MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 17, 2023) -- Dirty Mo Media, the multimedia content platform of NASCAR Hall-of-Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., announced today it has signed three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin to a podcast deal that will give listeners an unfiltered, honest and bold perspective from one of NASCAR’s top athletes and businessmen. Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin will debut February 6 with new episodes dropping weekly during the NASCAR season.
“Denny is one of the more polarizing individuals in the sport right now,” said Earnhardt Jr. “We know he can be candid, opinionated and entertaining as a driver, but he also is very insightful on the challenges and thrills of team ownership. This is going to be fun seeing Denny create content, and I am excited that he is doing it with Dirty Mo Media.”
The first episode of Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin will air February 6 following the season-opening, non-points-paying Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Hamlin will be joined by co-host, friend and brand team member Jared Allen as the duo unpacks the previous race and pivots toward Daytona Speedweeks. Hamlin says he plans to use the podcast for guest appearances, expanded dialogue, and listener-engagement opportunities in which he gives NASCAR’s fiercely loyal fanbase a chance to be heard.
“I am approaching podcasting the way I approach everything else – I want to win,” said Hamlin. “Winning in this sense will be measured on whether I can become a dependable resource for NASCAR fans. That’s my goal. I want to connect with fans, even those who cheer for other drivers. I want to enhance their NASCAR experience by offering a perspective they can’t get anywhere else. I want them to be able to hear directly from the drivers and team owners. If I am able to do all that, we will have succeeded.”
Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin will be part of the Dirty Mo Media podcast network, joining a powerful line-up that already consists of widely popular franchises such as Earnhardt’s own show, The Dale Jr. Download. Earnhardt and Dirty Mo Media President Mike Davis co-host the show, which is set to begin its 11th season in 2023. Hamlin was a guest on the May 24, 2022 episode, in which he candidly discussed his conversations with NASCAR’s leadership and expanded on feelings of the sport’s current business model.
“That was the day we realized we needed a Denny Hamlin podcast,” said Davis. “He was polished, charismatic and authentic on that show. That episode confirmed what we already suspected but weren’t quite ready to admit – Denny’s voice is as important as anyone’s in NASCAR. Dale and I started pitching him on a podcast almost immediately.”
New episodes of Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin will drop on Mondays throughout the 2023 NASCAR season and will be available across all major podcast platforms.
